Stop in and check us out!
On October 17th we celebrated our 10th anniversary here at Screaming Crow Tattoo. A huge thank you to all our customers for helping us reach this milestone. With shops opening and closing everyday this is quite an achievement! Also, a big thank you to our awesome crew; Brett, Ricky, Steev, Emil, Darryl and Mizz for continueing to put out amazing work. We would also like to thank The Valley Mirror for writing about us. Here's to another ten years!
Our hours are Noon – 9pm, Monday – Saturday. Like everywhere, we are doing so under certain restrictions…
1) You must wear a mask! No exceptions. Due to the outrageous costs of masks right now, we cannot supply you with one.
2) Come alone. Only people receiving work are allowed in the tattoo and piercing areas.
3) We have enough room in our waiting area for two people. And that is reserved for people waiting to get worked on.
4) Walk-ins. Yes, we are taking walk-ins if we can get you in and you are compliant to the rules. It will be best if you call ahead to find out our schedule first. Appointments are preferred at this time.
5) NO CHILDREN! Do not bring your child in here with you even if you want to ask a question. You will be asked to leave immediately. If someone is available, we can walk outside and talk to you. If you are over the age of 16 and going to get worked on, your parents must leave after signing the paperwork and come back to get you later.
6) $50 deposit required for all tattoo appointments.
7) Shop minimum is now $80. I know it sucks, but the cost of our supplies has doubled since the pandemic.
Thank you for your understanding! If you have any questions, please feel free to call, email or facebook message us! (412) 368-8259.
We are now carrying Diamond Brand CBD products including CBD oil, vape oil, gummies, honey, and animal treats.
Brett "Rude" Scott has been tattooing professionally for about a decade now. He specializes in realism and urban styles.
Ricky has been tattooing for about 20 years. Cutting his teeth on the Lower East Side of NYC, Ricky can take care of just about anything you throw at him.
Steev has been tattooing professionally for 10 years. Learning from the Mon Valley's finest, Steev loves more traditional designs.
Emil grew up in the Steel Valley and has been tattooing for about 30 years. Semi-retired, Emil works part-time and you can usually catch him here during the evenings.
Perfecting his craft in Washington, DC before relocated to the 'burgh. This fun loving guy has been tattooing professionally for 5 years. Darryl likes urban imagery, but can handle just about anything. He also pierces!
Mizz it new to our little rag tag bunch of misfits, but she has been tattooing for 8 years!
MINIMUM AGE FOR TATTOOS & PIERCINGS
You must be 18 years of age with a photo ID or at least 16 years of age with a birth certificate and parent with their photo ID to get tattooed. No step-mothers, step-fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts or uncles. Your parents name must be on the birth certificate. If you are adopted or someone else has legal guardianship over you, you must bring in the court papers stating so. You must be at least 18 years old for any kind of private area piercing.
NO EXCEPTIONS!
TATTOO APPOINTMENT / DEPOSIT RULES
All appointments require a deposit. Anything you put down will come off the price of the tattoo when you get it. Deposit amounts are up to the discretion of the artist, but a minimum of $50 will be required to hold your spot. Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE! Appointments can be moved if given 24 hours notice, but will never be refunded. If you are a minor and come in for an appointment without the proper paperwork required, you will lose your deposit. If you call within 24 hours and ask to reschedule your appointment, you will have 30 days to do so. If we don't hear from you within 30 days, you will lose your deposit. If you are running late, please call the shop and let the artist know. Sometimes we can accommodate you and sometimes are schedule is too tight to do so. Same thing applies if you change your mind on the design, placement or size of your tattoo at the last minute. All appointments are given a 15 minute window for arrival. If you don't show or call within those 15 minutes, the artist may take a walk-in and you will lose your deposit.
I know it seems like we are being strict on deposits, but tattoo artists don't get paid unless they are tattooing. This is why we charge a deposit in the first place. If you don't show up they have a gap in their schedule where they aren't earning money. Artists have kids, car payments, bills, etc. just like you do.
WALK-INS?
Walk-ins are always welcome for tattoos if we can fit you in. Weekdays are a little more open for walk-ins than weekends. We encourage you to call ahead and check the schedule that day. Sometimes all our artists are booked up with appointments all day. Also, please be aware that calling ahead does not hold your spot! The only way to hold a spot is to put down a deposit and set up an appointment. Walk-ins are first come, first serve. First through the door, not first to call. Just because someone tells you on the phone that an artist should be able to take a walk-in at a certain time, doesn't mean someone else won't walk in ahead of you. Also, if you leave and come back, you will be put in the back of the line. You want us to hold your spot, you must set up an appointment and put down a deposit.
Piercings are usually walk-in only. Darryl also tattoos so there may be a little wait before he can get you in. He takes his last piercing at 7:30pm.
OTHER POLICIES & THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
CHICKEN OUT - If you "chicken out" or change your mind at the last minute after the artist has set up for you, you will be charged our minimum of $80. If you change your mind on a piercing after the piercer has already set up for you, you will be charged $20. It cost money to set up for you. Time is money plus all the supplies we exposed now have to be thrown away. Also the artist could have taking another client in the time you have wasted. So please make sure you are 100% sure you want the tattoo or piercing before waste anyone's time.
MILITARY PERSONEL: The entire military prohibits racist, extremist or gang-related tattoos, but each branch has its own rules. It is not up to us to know or enforce these rules.
MISPELLINGS - Although we try very hard not to make mistakes, they do happen on occasion. We aren't spelling experts here. This is why you are asked to look over your design to insure that dates are correct and everything is spelled right. You have a chance to look at it when it is printed out or drawn up and again once the stencil is put on your body. If you miss it, we are not responsible for it once its tattooed on you. This is also stated on the consent form that you sign.
COVER UPS - Listen to your artists! We have been doing this a long time. If we tell you that the design you want to cover your tattoo with won't work, then listen to them. Also be aware that sometimes a cover up won't 100% hide the existing tattoo. Sometimes it will need another session. The idea is to draw your eye away from the original tattoo and focus it on the new piece. You may always know the original piece is there, but others won't.
HAND AND FINGER TATTOOS - Your hands exfoliate skin faster than any other part of the body making hands and especially finger tattoos wear much faster. This is why we do not guarantee them. If you want them touched up, you will have to pay the artist to do so. Usually the minimum.
Also, make sure you are specific with your artist about what you want your tattoo to look like. No one can read your mind. No two artists are the same. They all have different styles. Definitely check out their work to ensure you are happy with the result.
Thanks for your understanding and support! Feel free to stop by anytime to discuss your next tattoo or piercing with our talented staff.
*All artists working at Screaming Crow Tattoo & Piercing are independent contractors. Any free tattoo touch ups will be done by the original artist only and must be done within 60 days of getting the original tattoo.
